Frasers Property Industrial has successfully progressed construction of Frasers Park Roermond, its first speculative development in the Netherlands. The project at the industrial estate Roerstreek-Noord in Roermond officially topped out last month, reaching its highest point of 15 meters. It is on track for completion by the end of 2021.

In collaboration with E-Prop as development partner and VDR Bouwgroep as general contractor, Frasers Park Roermond will be a 33,000 square metre state-of-the-art warehouse. The warehouse will comprise two facilities of approximately 18,000 and 15,000 square metres in warehousing and logistics space, as well as two separate office spaces and mezzanine floors. In line with Frasers Property Industrial’s commitment for a more sustainable future, it plans to install solar panels on the roof of each unit and is targeting a BREEAM-NL “Excellent” certification.

Strategically located in the south-east of the Netherlands and in close proximity to the German and Belgian borders, Frasers Park Roermond is well positioned to service both national and international customers. Both facilities are currently open to leasing enquiries, with a high level of interest expected.

Alexander Heubes, Managing Director Europe at Frasers Property Industrial, comments: “We are excited to see Frasers Property Industrial’s first speculative development in the Netherlands take shape in collaboration with our partners E-Prop and VDR Bouwgroep.

“The two interconnected units at Frasers Park Roermond will offer flexibility in size and a high degree of sustainability based on the expected BREEAM-NL certification. We are confident and looking forward to welcoming our first customers to the state-of-the-art logistics distribution center in the fourth quarter of this year.”

Bruno Du Ry, Director at E-Prop, comments: “We are proud to announce that the highest point has been reached thanks to the cooperation with Frasers Property Industrial and VDR Bouwgroep. As the new development site is located on the new Silk Route, it represents the cooperation between Asian and European companies in support of the global economy.”

Luc Baltus, Managing Director at VDR Bouwgroep, comments: "Sustainable and circular construction begins with the way in which we use the scarce building land in our country. This project is an example of how we can sustainably deal with old industrial sites. Together with Frasers Property Inudstrial and E-Prop, we are bringing new and high-quality activity back to an old industrial area. While we provide cutting-edge space for commercial opportunities, the logistics centre will also be gas-free, emit zero nitrogen, have a minimal CO2 footprint and provide a conducive environment for local flora and fauna.”

Frasers Park Roermond is expected to be wind and waterproof by July 2021 and practical completion is scheduled for the end of October 2021.The development was first announced in November 2020 when Frasers Property Industrial acquired the 49,358 square metre development site.
