From blank canvas to fully operational facility. For Penguin Random House, its next facility had to do more than provide additional space. It needed the scale and technology to support the consolidation of its distribution capabilities across Australia and New Zealand. 

The result is a purpose-built 38,405 sqm facility at Rubix Connect in Melbourne’s south-east, designed to increase capacity, improve order fulfilment and support more efficient operations for Penguin Random House, which distributes more than 36 million books annually. The facility is the largest warehouse transaction in Melbourne’s south-east since 2012. 

Central to the project was the integration of state-of-the-art ‘goods to person’ automation, with Frasers Property Industrial working closely with Penguin Random House and its automation specialists to ensure the building, services and infrastructure could accommodate the technology.
