MQX Kick Start Café

With unemployment rates for youth in NSW sitting at 13% (ABS data), the social enterprise Kick Start Café  positive impact has been widely felt at Macquarie Exchange. Providing food and beverage amenity for workers, students, and the wider community, all while helping provide valuable employment pathways for young people experiencing hardship.

 

Having welcomed the Café to our development in March last year, Kick Start Café has completed a total of 577 trainee hours serving the Macquarie Exchange community. Their latest impact report from April to June 2021 found:

  • 100% of graduates from the employment pathway program had maintained or improved their skills in searching and applying for jobs
  • 88% of graduates had maintained or improved their overall skills, qualifications and opportunities since working with the Kick Start Group.
  • 83% of graduates had maintained or improved their desire to make changes.
